Kagamine Rin / Len (鏡 音 リン · レン) is a computer music software sound synthesis production Crypton Future Media. The software was released December 27, 2007 as the second series of Character Vocal Series following the success of the first series Hatsune Miku. Though less in demand than Hatsune Miku, until July 2008, this product has sold 20 000 copies.
Vocaloid software requires the production of Yamaha Corporation. From the sound of pre-recorded sounds in the literature (voice bank), main vocals and background vocals can be generated by a computer simply by entering the notes and lyrics. The software is named Kagamine Rin / Len because it contains two libraries, a male voice (Len) and female voice (Rin). Kagamine surname, derived from the word Kagami (镜, glass) and Ne (音, sound). Sampling male or female voice (Len / Rin) both come from the sound Seiyu Asami Shimoda.
